Now that we’ve spied an uncovered 2 Series, let’s take a look at how it stacks up visually against what will be one of main competitors – the Mercedes CLA sedan (with Sport package). One may be a coupe and the other a sedan with coupe-like styling, but this is the closest match we have, until the rumored 2 Series Gran Coupe is revealed. Once the 2 Series official specs and photos are released, we’ll put together another comparo comparing official photos, as well as physical specs. 2013 BMW 328i M Sport vs. 2013 Cadillac ATS 2.0 Premium vs. 2014 Lexus IS 250 F Sport

Edmunds sets out to find out the best sport sedan for $45,000. In the comparison, the 2013 BMW 328i M Sport is pitted against the Cadillac ATS 2.0 Premium and the Lexus IS 250 F Sport. The BMW 328i is also powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit outputting 240 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque. The M Sport package adds 18-inch or 19-inch lightweight wheels as an option. Included in the M Sport pack is an M-tuned suspension which lowers the car by ten millimeters and offers stiffer spring rates and damper settings as well as stronger stabilizer bars. BMW says the decision to include M Sport brakes as standard has yet to be determined.

BMW Individual High-gloss Shadowline trim gives the car the typical M look. An optional M paint is also offered – Estoril Blue, as well as M Sport brakes with contrasting blue paint finish. Here is an excerpt from the review: The Reigning King: 2013 BMW 328i BMW’s iconic 3 Series got a thorough redesign for 2012 that brought with it dramatic new headlights, an updated interior with a cockpit angled toward the driver (by 7 degrees, says BMW), a larger footprint, more interior space and most importantly, a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hooked to an eight-speed automatic. This new 240-horsepower power plant doesn’t mean this 3 Series is any cheaper, though, as it starts at $37,745. Tacking on the necessary-for-this-test M Sport Line trim (18-inch wheels, summer tires, sport suspension, sport seats, special wheels) adds $3,850 and gets dangerously close to our limit. BMW finished off the budget with the Premium package and heated front seats for a total cost of $45,745. Best $45,000 Sport Sedan The 328 has standard dual-zone climate control, auto stop-start and an iPod interface, but there’s no navigation system. No back-up cameras/sensors either. No shift paddles. No goodies. This is as basic a 3 Series as you’re likely to find short of a custom order. 2014 BMW X5 shows off its interior design

The next generation 2014 BMW X5 was spotted with its interior design fully uncovered. The X5 is just weeks away from its official world debut and for the first time in a long time we have a chance to see both the final exterior and interior design way ahead of its premiere. Back in January, the F15 was leaked through a web configurator most likely used by one of BMW’s branding and marketing agencies. As seen in the new F30 3 Series, the dashboard design follows the layered design approach showcased back in 2009 with the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. The car gets a driver-focus design, a BMW trait seen across all recent models. The move from a flat dashboard to one that wraps around the driver, gives the car both a more personal feel and a sportier stance.

On top of the dashboard sits a free-standing LCD screen compared to the one built-in into the current generation. The new F15 X5 is also rumored to get BMW’s newest iTouch Drive knob which allows for gestures to input commands or text. Inside, the customers will have a choice between Black Leatherette and Black Dakota Leather, Canberra Beige Dakota, Terra Dakota, Ivory White Dakota and Mocha Dakota with contrast stitching. First introduced with the new 1 and 3 Series models, pre-configured packages / lines will be offered for the X5 as well, starting with the Luxury Line (ZLL), xLine (ZXD) and ending with the M Sport Package. The Luxury Line and xLine will also come with exclusive Line-specific 19″ wheel (optional upgrade to 20“ wheels) and a unique car key.

BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo. Product presentation Video

This new product presentation clip shows the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo including driving scenes. BMW’s latest niche model, the 3 Series Gran Turismo, joins the 3 Series family and unites the sporty-dynamic genes of the Sedan with the practicality and versatility of the Touring, along with enhanced space and ride comfort. BMW says that it has applied some of the lessons learned from the controversial 5 Series Gran Turismo. (Race Track Review BMW 5 Series GT) The new midsize Gran Turismo model is built on the 3 Series long wheelbase platform and uses the 5 Series GT’s design as the starting point. At 4,824 millimeters long, 1,489 millimeters tall, 1,828 millimeters wide and with a 2,920-millimetre wheelbase, the new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is notably larger all round than the Sedan and Touring variants of the 3 Series range.

The new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is also 200 millimeters longer than the BMW 3 Series Touring and comes with a 110-millimeter longer wheelbase and stands 81 millimeters taller. Front and rear passengers all benefit from a seating position raised by 59 millimeters. The 3 GT will be offered with the Sport Line, Luxury Line or Modern Line equipment packages, or with the optional M Sport package, which will already be available from July 2013. We Drive a Fleet of Fully Equipped BMW 335i M Performance Models (with PPK)

We had a chance this week to drive a group of F30 335i equipped with the full complement of BMW M Performance Parts. On the performance side, these cars featured M Performance Power Kit (PPK), suspension kit, brakes and exhaust. Cosmetic enhancements include the M Performance front lip spoiler/splitters, sport stripes, carbon fiber mirror caps, black kidney grilles, side-sill decals, 20″ wheels (Style 405M), carbon fiber/alcantara interior and carbon fiber shift lever. Performance How did the cars perform? With the M Performance Suspension Kit, the 335i handling felt several increments more immediate and responsive, with less roll, squat or dive than a standard 335i. The cars looked great too with the reduced wheel gap. The upgraded brakes held up well lap after lap and session after session (there were hundreds of laps taken by hundreds of BMW Client Advisers through two days of track sessions). With the 335i M Performance Power Kit [Dinan dyno] installed, the F30s had plenty of go, but since my daily driver is not a F30 335i and there were no standard 335i to drive for comparison, it was not as easy to tell the performance difference using the ole’ butt dyno. However, the PPK’s official specs (+20hp / +32 lb-ft torque), tell us that we were accelerating 0.2 seconds faster 0-60mph than a standard 335i would have. Sounds As for the sound of the F30 M Performance Exhaust, it’s hard to convey precisely in words as usual when describing sounds, so have a listen in the video below. Suffice (and obvious) to say, it’s an improvement upon the factory 335i exhaust, without being overly loud or obnoxious. Looks How did the cars look? We’ve always felt that the F30 could have had a sportier design in stock form, but the M Performance cosmetic parts (in conjunction with the M Sport package aero kit) improves upon the factory look greatly… save for the sport stripes which are probably too garish for a regular street car.

BMW 4 Series M Sport Reveals More Aggressive Face Than 3 Series

If you couldn’t already tell from the torrent of spy photos featured on the BIMMERPOST homepage, manufacturer testing season has opened on the Nurburgring. On the track today was this F32 4 Series (435i) with M Sport package revealing for the first time the aggressive shape of the M Sport front bumper. Compared to the F30 3 Series M Sport front fascia, the 4 Series M Sport bumper is more angular, with air vents that angle upwards and expands as it gets closer to the outside of the front bumper. The side shot also shows that it incorporates splitter fins which extend quite far out, adding to the aggressive look. The lighter camouflage also reveals what looks to be Air Curtain vents in the M Sport bumper (which improve air flow around the wheel arches and reduces turbulence). The rear bumper and sideskirts’ camouflage remains the same, but it’s not difficult to make out their shape and lines. This prototype wears the 19″ M Sport wheels (Style 442 M) on the rear. The front wheels are from 3 Series M Sport package and will not be offered as a factory option for the 4 Series M Sport. The other M Sport wheel which will be offered are 18″ Style 441 M wheels. You can see what that looks like in the 4 Series Dealer Order Guides (which also contains lines, options, packages information). Production of the 4 Series coupe begins this July and the 4 Series convertible begins production in November. The US will get the 428i and 435i coupes, in RWD and xDrive versions. In its first model year (2014), the 435i coupe will be powered by the same N55 engine as the current F30 335i sedan (with the same power output) and the 428i is likewise powered by the same N20 engine as the current F30 328i sedan. California-based dealer Century West BMW are giving us an exclusive look at yet another unique BMW.  Just a few months ago they shared with us the first and only Laguna Seca Blue 7 Series in the United States and today they are raising the bar with another 750Li, this time painted in the Frozen Bronze color. To complement our regular inventory, we are striving to have unique, specialized and individual BMW’s at Century West BMW (located in Studio City, California), says Chris Marino, General Sales Manager of Century West BMW.  “Not every BMW is alike and when you are talking about the 7 series—BMW’s flagship—it should be special. Previously, I had seen Frozen Bronze Metallic on another BMW and immediately I knew how wonderful a 7 Series would look treated in that color,” said Chris Marino.

The interior is also BMW Individual in Canyon Brown Full Merino Leather with Piano Black Trim.  This 7 Series has everything including some of the harder to find options like Active Cruise Control, Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection, Bang & Olufsen Sound, Rear Entertainment Package and Active Roll Stabilization.  For the exacting customer who wants what is, ostensibly, the only car like it on the planet, this 7 series will standout without equal. The fully loaded 750Li also sports the sporty and aggressive M Sport Package, making this particular model even more special.
